Episode 5 - Transcendence Without God

Episode 5 of the podcast is available for download here. In this episode, I discuss the article "Transcendence without God" by Anthony Simon Laden. The essay appears in the collection Philosophers Without Gods.

Not much to say about this one -- apart from what is said in the podcast itself.

  1. If ye fearith NOT the TRUTH OF GOD.....then

  2. hey recently came across your blog. Its really good, especially since I am doing this paper on "can religious beiefs be considered knowledge? (with reference to christianity)" and was hoping you could help me. its only 2000 words.

  3. I am going to have to politely say "no". I don't know what kind of internet floodgates I would opening up if I started to accept students requesting help on their essays. If you were a student in one of my classes at my university I would be willing to help.

If you have some teachers/professors you should ask them. They should be able to help you out.

  4. Another excellent podcast.

Do you have any plans to tackle some of the other essays in the book?

  5. Have you a particular one in mind?

    I am open to requests.

  6. Hmmm... Well, Without the Net of Providence by Kenneth A. Taylor, and Reasonable Religious Disagreements by Richard Feldman are probably the two standout essays for me. So I'd love to hear your take on them. But, to be honest, I'd be happy with any of them, as it really is an excellent collection.
